Third Letter Home From The MTC

Hola! Como le va? I can't believe it is Preparation Day again! Wow this last week just flew by. Well, today has been SO awesome! haha The weather is amazing, and we have been outside a lot...and not just outside the way you think...:D Hermana Cram wears glasses, and today I have never been so thankful for glasses. We got to go OUT IN THE WORLD for about an hour today to get her glasses (gafas) adjusted. It was weird. haha I had always thought it was so funny when Elders would say that they got to go out in the "real world" only after being in the MTC for a few weeks, but now I know why. The MTC really is like it's own little world, and it was nuts being outside of it for so long. Yes. An hour was incredibly long. We were itching to get back. But it was pretty funny being able to go. We took loads of pictures of our "First Road Trip" together. :) We had two other companionships in our district go out in the "real world" this week too, actually, so only the trio of Elders needs to go out and then we have all been out! haha The other two were for health issues so I am grateful it was only for glasses for us. The coolest thing about going out was actually being recognized as missionaries. A dad was coming in with his three kids and he pointed to us and said, "Look guys! It's real missionaries! It's the Sister Missionaries!" That was awesome. Then Hermana Cram turns to me and says, "Hermana! We're missionaries!!" hahaha It was the best. :) It was a really good feeling. Well anyways, that was the exciting thing that actually just happened. We just got back.
So, another REALLY awesome thing that happened this week was our second visit with one of our new investigators, David. (pronounced- Dah-veed. Start practicing that Spanish accent!) We got to know him really well this week, and actually talked to him more about the Libro de Mormon and Jose Smith. We gave him a few verses to read last week, and then we just straight up asked him why he wasn't baptized yet and if he wanted to be. Yes. We are learning to let go of the natural man and hang on to that iron rod and trust in God and the Espiritu Santo! After we asked him, he said YES! We talked to him more about the Palabra de Sabiduria (word of wisdom) because he smokes a lot and drinks every once in awhile. We had him read the blessings that are promised to him if he follows the Palabra de Sabiduria, and he said he would quit smoking and not drink anymore! It was INCREDIBLE! The spirit was so strong and it was just awesome. I love him so much and I was so proud of him for being so brave and truly exercising his faith. :) He is coming to church with us this Sunday too. ( Okay so hold up uno momento - David is in fact our other teacher, Hermano Steele. He is role playing as an investigator that was from his mission. So in all reality, Hermano Steele does not smoke, or drink, and he is not coming to chruch with us BUT we are asked to treat the investigators and lessons as if they are real and it is so crazy how the spirit works and still testifies the truth even during role playing.) K back in - so that was incredibly awesome, and got me really excited to teach my future Chilean investigators!:) Estuve un milagro!
Next item of business...I HAVE BEEN EATING SO MUCH CANDY AND I LOVE IT! haha We realized that as Hermanas we don't get candy that much. Most of the Elders in our district, well, Elder Galovich and Elder Clark to throw out some names, get packages every week...LOADED with candy! Elder Storey is another package hogger and he gets cookies and cupcakes! haha It's crazy. So gracias por los dulces! :) (candy) I also got a valentine from Hermana Cram's mother today! It truly has been the greatest p-day. Oh, and I didn't even mention that a girl that worked at the eye doctors went on a mission to CHILE SANTIAGO EAST! She actually knew Anthony Travato, my friend that served there. It was sweet talking to her. And another weird thing! Our first shuttle driver is roommates at BYU with one of my friends from high school! Kevin Williams. haha It has been a fun day. :)
Entonces, another week in the MTC has surprisingly gone by. We are learning a lot of useful things with the language and teaching A TON. We have two investigators now, instead of just one, and teaching twice in a day is pretty exhausting. I can't believe we'll be doing like five times this much out in the field! You care so much for each investigator and pray so hard for them...it's not just draining your brain power but you get spiritually exhausted too! haha I never thought there was such a thing. Well, I hope you all had an awesome, awesome week! I think about you all daily and love you so much. :) Keep sending them letters and I'll keep emailing my little funny MTC stories back!:) haha
The church is so true and the Book of Mormon truly is the la piedra clave de este iglesia!:) Yeah you go google translate that! I learned that word this week. :) haha They tell us to use the new vocab we learn! It's weird writing and talking in so much English...we speak Espanol all the time here! And next week it's going to be 24/7...dun dun dun... jk I'm pumped! Well, hasta luego!
LOVE HERMANA WILCOCK!!!
